1969-79 Volkswagen bug type 1 and 3, new IRS bearing housing. these are used to replace stock bearing bores or build new trailing arms for custom suspension for bugs, buggy’s, buses and kit cars. Precision Made by Wagenswest. After years of using import bearing housings, we had enough. So we made these. Out of a solid block of steel, with proper dimensions and offsets. We also added a grease zerk to keep your bearings lubed up.

EMPI has taken the guess work out of putting together your high performance I.R.S. axles. Complete axle kits are now available and come with our chromoly race axles, nylon ties, boots, C.V. joints, flanges, and grease. These axle kits are not assembled and come in an eye catching full color box. Type 2 kits are supplied with 98-5084-B C.V. joints and 8mm bolts. The 930 kits are supplied with 87-9470-B C.V. joints and 3/8" bolts.

VW Bus Porsche rear disc brake kit, based on OEM 1983-86 Porsche 944 disc brakes.

This our VW Bus, Porsche rear disc brake kit, it is designed for lowered split window, Volkswagen buses. Because that is what we do, but This is not just any kit. We built this in the tradition of quality we expect from German cars. And it will fit type-1, type-3 and 944 Porsche IRS trailing arms. This kit also fits type-1, type-3 and 356 swing axle transmissions. Suitable for VW t-1 t-3, Porsche 944 and 356.

This Bus / Porsche rear disc kit uses OEM 944 rear vented 11″ inch rotors , OEM Porsche parking brake shoes and hardware. The hubs have a 5 x 130mm bolt pattern with a 14mm x 1.5 threaded studs.

Made here at Wagenswest in the USA, From 4140 Alloy steel, the toughest rear disc brake kit you can get for the rear of your VW bus.

4 styles, to fit the type of axle you have, options are customize-able on this page.

#1 IRS Type-1 Type-3 and Porsche 944 and 1968 type-1 and 3 long axle, (this is one is most common)

#2 Short axle, short spline, short casting = 1949-66 Type-1 Beetle + 356.

#3 long axle, short spline, short casting = 1967 only Type-1 Beetle.

#4 Long axle, long spline, short casting = Old school Bus Boys / Wolfgang swing axle lowering kits.

Wagenswest complete 1968-79 bus Suspension and brake kit, the good stuff with no guess work

Porsche bolt pattern 5 on 130mm.

This kit comes with a complete 4" inch narrowed adjustable front-end with new ball joints and 2.5 inch dropped spindles; including Wagenswest vented 4 piston disk brakes. The beam is ready to install grease, align, and go.

The rear end kit consist of Wagenswest drop plates, 3.25" for 1971-79 and an option for 4.5" to fit aftermarket wheels on the 1968-70 bus. The brakes are OEM Porsche style with internal parking brakes and forged hubs, 4 piston calipers and vented cross drilled rotors.

A pair of adjustable spring plates, all 4 shocks. Some of our new Wagenswest billet spring plate caps and a master cylinder kit is also included.

The suspension and brake parts needed to do the job.

KIT WILL NOT FIT STOCK 14" WHEELS.

For years we have CNC machined and pocketed bus rear hubs for our disc brake kits and custom suspensions. We have developed techniques, so we can machine and change bolt patterns without compromising strength.

you send us your hubs and we will machine and install premium U.S.A. made wheel studs.

1968-79 4.5 inch rear drop plates.

Wagenswest 4.5″ x -.5″ inch rear narrowing drop plates

For 1968-79 Volkswagen buses. Original engineered by us with a patent-pending design. These plates will drop the back of your bay bus 4.5″ inches and narrow each side by .5″ inch. This narrowing is especially good for 1968-70 buses when using after market wheels that wont fit in the wheel well otherwise.

Built out of 5/8″ laser cut plate

These things are beasts, and take up a bit of room in the wheel wells, so it is necessary to cut off your bumps stops – when Installing these plates. Instructions can be found here.
